The winning prize includes a one-year subscription to Nikon Owner magazine and a four-day masterclass in photographing brown bears, wolves, lynx and deer in Slovakia by Nikon Owner’s Simon Stafford
The Daily Mail Weekend magazine has just launched its second annual Great British Photography Photography Challenge and on its judging panel is our founder, Gray Levett, and Nikon Owner magazine’s Technical Editor, Simon Stafford. The other judges are: Ben Fogle, Bill Oddie, Ellie Harrison, Martin Hughes-Games and Philippa Forrester.
“I am delighted to once again be part of the distinguished judging panel for this year’s Great British Photography Challenge in the Daily Mail Weekend magazine. It is almost impossible to accurately describe the meaning and emotional impact of a good photograph – however, they do all have one thing in common, that is they instantly communicate with the viewer. There is a sort of two-way communication that is achieved – the photographs speak to you. That is the magic of a great image,” says Gray Levett.
The Great British Wildlife Photography Challenge is open to all amateur photographers. There are five categories: 1. Mammals; 2. Birds; 3. Insects; 4. Fish, Reptiles, Amphibians and Molluscs; 5. A special category for under-18s. Entries must be submitted by email by 18 September 2015 and the winners will be announced in Weekend magazine. Category winners will have their photographs published in the magazine and put on display. They will also receive a state-of-the-art Nikon D5500 digital camera, lenses, a memory card and a one-year subscription to Nikon Owner magazine, as part of a £1,000 package. The overall winner will also receive a four-day trip to Slovakia with professional photographer Simon Stafford, one of our judges, who will run a masterclass in photographing brown bears, wolves, lynx and deer.
