For a fourth successive year London College of Fashion is delighted to announce that Capsule#4, an exhibition of work by 2012 graduates from BA (Hons) Fashion Photography, will be exhibited at the Richard Young Gallery in Kensington, London.

The show has developed a reputation for launching fashion photography stars of the future, something that is very close to the heart of Richard Young, the UK’s most successful celebrity photographer, who believes passionately that helping graduates to get started in the industry will keep British taught talent amongst the finest in the world.

Richard Young said, “I am delighted to be working with London College of Fashion again and helping to launch the next generation of fashion photographers. It’s always an exciting moment when the work of this year’s cohort is unveiled in our gallery space – knowing that a future Nick Knight or Mario Testino might be in our midst!”

Once again, Nikon are generously supporting an Award for the graduate who displays the most creative potential. The winner will receive the latest Nikon D7000 camera with an 18-105mm lens which will be presented at the Private View on Tuesday 12th June.

For this first time this year, Harry Handelsman, founder of Manhattan Loft Corporation and a keen Collector of photography is offering a £500 student prize.

The show is also being supported by the Anthony and Pat Charitable Foundation. The judging panel tasked with finding a winner this year are: Richard Young, Nikon representative Jeremy Gilbert, and photographer Lorenzo Agius.

Capsule#4 will showcase work by 41 graduates who are the rising stars of the world of fashion photography. The work on display will reflect the diverse range of image making to emerge from BA (Hons) Fashion Photography – a course that provides a unique experience unmatched around the world to help students develop their own authentic signature style.

Professor Frances Corner, Head of LCF said, “We’re delighted to once again be working with Richard Young, one of the UK’s most successful photographers. We’re very grateful to Richard and Susan Young for their steadfast support and for giving our students the opportunity to show in such an established gallery, helping us to reinforce the importance of our graduates within the creative industries.”

The exhibition will be accompanied by a full-colour catalogue and it will also be possible to buy limited edition prints of the exhibited works.

In this, her first photographic exhibition, Manches’ work highlights the beauty of the female through the striking contrast between shadow and light.

The female body is presented in its natural state with light accentuating its form, shape and substance. The images are soft and fluid, suggested rather than defined. These photographs evoke sensuality through subtlety providing the viewer a glimpse into a private moment in time.

Manches studied art and design at Goldsmith’s College. As an illustrator, designer, art teacher, sculptor and photographer, she has gained exposure through a variety of artistic outlets.
