Description
Over the course of his 30-year career, Art Wolfe has worked on every continent and in hundreds of locations. His stunning images interpret and record the world’s fast-disappearing wildlife, landscapes, and native cultures, and act as a lasting inspiration to those who seek to preserve the very subjects recorded in his images. His photographs are recognized throughout the world for their mastery of colour, composition and perspective.
Art’s vision and passionate wildlife advocacy affirm his dedication to his work. By employing artistic and journalistic styles, he documents his subjects and educates the viewer. His unique approach to nature photography is based on his training in the arts and his love of the environment. Hailed by William Conway, former president of the Wildlife Conservation Society, as “the most prolific and sensitive recorder of a rapidly vanishing natural world,” Art has taken an estimated one million images in his lifetime and has released over sixty books.
In this rare European lecture tour, Art will reveal in this intensive one-day seminar how he makes his stunning images, from conception to print. The day includes five separate lectures, which cover Finding Inspiration, Deconstructing the Image & Point of View, the Ten Deadly Sins of Composition, My Favourite Lenses & Use of Shutter Speed, and Elements of Design and Use of Light.
During each lecture, Art describes in depth, using his inspirational images as an illustration, the techniques he uses and the approach to photography he adopts. The day ends with a magical look at some of his most recent work, covering landscape, wildlife and humanity.
This seminar represents a rare and unique opportunity for anyone interested in the defining skills of photography to learn from one of the world’s greatest living nature photographers.
Previous seminar feedback
“I have pursued photography for over 51 years and finally feel someone has shared insights into composition and the mental portion of photography that have eluded me for these many years. My camera has not left my hand since I awoke this morning.”
“Experiencing an Art Wolfe lecture is a journey into the mind of a master photographer. Art takes you along as he finds striking graphics hidden within the chaos of our surroundings. I highly recommend attending.”
“Without hesitation it was the best photography workshop I have ever attended. By best I mean he combines the finest qualities of artist, photographer and teacher (including the ability to entertain), which is a rare combination today.”
The price includes all 5 lectures and lunch.
