On 5th February, Amateur Photographer Magazine, now in its 131st year, held its annual Awards luncheon at the splendid One Whitehall Place, London to recognise the best of the best in 21 categories.
Grays of Westminster was awarded a Gold Retailer Good Service Award for the fifth consecutive year!
To everyone who voted for us – thank you again for your acknowledgement of our service!
We are also pleased to report that Enthusiast SLR Camera of the Year was won by the Nikon D750 and the Professional SLR Camera of the Year went to the Nikon D810
The Exceptional Achievement in Photography Award, sponsored by Grays of Westminster, went to René Burri of Switzerland – one of the world’s greatest post-war photographers, known for his his Che Guevara portrait, and his ‘four suited figures on top of a Sao Paulo skyscraper’ image – who sadly died last year.
The Power of Photography Award went to Nikon user Benjamin Von Wong, already a giant in the photographic world, yet so young! Amateur Photographer: “Benjamin von Wong’s hyper-realistic style combines special effects and innovative concepts, and strikes a strange balance between ethereal and dynamic. For an example of this you need look no further than his hauntingly beautiful images of models under water.
