Nikon Owner London Group Meeting: An Evening on Astrophotography
Wednesday, November 27th 2013
Michael Eleftheriades, who very kindly arranges the wide range of meetings and events for the very popular Nikon Owner London Group, is very pleased to invite you to the next Nikon Owner (London Group) event, ‘An Evening on Astrophotography’. This unique event will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2013 at the Nikon School, part of the new Nikon London Centre of Excellence.
As the winter sets in, the nights are getting longer and the stars are getting brighter. Silently, across the vastness of space, a distant visitor by the name of ISON will reach perihelion (closest approach to our sun) on November 28th, and at this distance the intensity of the solar wind should expand the comet’s tail to an unprecedented size, easily visible from Earth. These are just some of the reasons why the Nikon Owner London Group will be holding its first ever Astrophotography Evening!
You will be able to find out how to photograph the sun, moon, stars, planets, comets and galaxies, examine Nikon’s illustrious history in astrophotography, as well as discuss suitable lenses and cameras, useful gadgets, the best locations, in addition to equatorial mounts that can rotate your camera and lens at the same rate as the earth for deep space photography.
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Simon Bennett of the Widescreen Centre in London – one of the foremost authorities on telescopes and observatory design in the UK – will be joining us to demonstrate the technologies behind the latest telescopes, with particular interest on those that can interface with DSLRs.
Since the Nikon Owner London evenings are now hosted at the Nikon School, you will also have the opportunity to view some of the latest and greatest Nikon equipment, including the underwater Nikon AW1 and the new Nikon Df. Don’t miss it and please book early to avoid disappointment!
Nikon School, from 6.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 27th 2013.
The presentation will commence at 7.00 p.m..
